The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, maintained that Venezuela uses all diplomatic mechanisms to always avoid any national or international conflict of a violent nature.
He highlighted that since the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez to power, the country has been characterized by promoting peace diplomacy, and therefore, in the face of the siege that the United States Government maintains against the country, with the military deployment in the Caribbean, Venezuela requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council so that “if anyone was not clear about the scope of the siege, they are now clear.”
He recalled that in previous governments, diplomatic bodies were used to create, together with the CIA, “death squads to assassinate religious, popular and union leaders.”
Since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, the country entered a new phase, including non-interference and peace diplomacy.
“In all instances we have presented the country as a force for peace. We use the UN authority so that, if anyone was not clear about the attacks against Venezuela, they would be clear about it throughout the world.”
In that context, he reiterated that “we are being attacked, we are being besieged by North American imperialism and not even they deny it, on the contrary, they claim it.”
“We go to these instances so that, if someone does not have the information, they do,” he reiterated in reference to the meeting held last Friday, October 10.
He indicated that the intervention of the permanent representative of Venezuela to the UN, Samuel Moncada, was very clear and the world knows that the US resorts to false narratives to try to justify a military intervention in the country.
“The whole world knows that Venezuela does not produce, does not process, does not traffic, is not a center of terrorism,” he expressed, after recalling that these are the arguments put forward by Donald Trump’s administration to attack the territory in a supposed fight against drug trafficking.
On peace in Gaza
Regarding the peace reached in Gaza, the general secretary of the PSUV expressed not believing that it will be maintained for long, since “at any moment the Zionists break that agreement, murdering more innocent people.”
Palestine is a people of peace from which their territory was taken away. “That is a town that the only thing that has done is complain.”
“I wish that peace would happen, but I don’t believe it because its promoters have always been specialists in lying and the main interest of Zionism has not ceased,” he pointed out.
