Cabello: Venezuela does not threaten anyone and sovereignly decides who flies

“Venezuela does not threaten anyone, Venezuela is a sovereign country that decides who enters or leaves its territory,” he said in relation to the false news generated from abroad regarding the Venezuelan air closure supposedly ordered by the US government.

“The national government, in a sovereign decision, told the companies that if they did not resume flights within 48 hours, they should not resume them again: “keep your planes and we will keep our dignity,” he said, referring to the IBERIA airline.

He explained that the US issued a NOTAM on airspace that includes other countries, not just Venezuela. “Those lines continue to fly to other countries without any problem, but suddenly they decided not to fly to Venezuela,” he commented.

He described as immoral the statements of the current US administration about the danger of the country, when they repatriate compatriots on flights from US soil. “By the way, how is it so dangerous and a US plane brought 175 Venezuelan migrants today? It’s the immorality of those who govern the US,” he said.

Cabello also questioned the German government’s advice against traveling to Venezuela, pointing out the contradiction that, while they are issuing these recommendations, their own ambassador is in the country enjoying the streets and Venezuelan daily life.

Vice president also denounced double standards of the hegemon

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, denounced this Wednesday night the “double standards” of the United States Government, whose administration allows repatriation flights for compatriots while putting pressure on other international airlines not to travel to Venezuela.

“The double standard of the hegemon; we no longer know where the joke begins or where the tragedy ends. The only true thing is that the Venezuelan people know very well who harms them from the north and who their local executors are,” Rodríguez said in a message published on his Telegram channel.

In that sense, the senior official confirmed the landing of the Eastern Airlines aircraft EAL8280 at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, in the state of La Guaira.

He added that Eastern Airlines maintains an operation of two weekly flights to Venezuela dedicated to the transfer of compatriots repatriated from the United States. He pointed out that “Eastern Airlines flight EAL8280 landed today in Maiquetía.”
