The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, reported the arrest of one of the financiers of the Venezuelan opposition, for allegedly being linked to drug trafficking in Colombia.
During his program Con El Mazo Dando, the psuvista leader identified the detainee as Biagio Garófalo who was arrested in Cartagena.
“This is an Italian-Venezuelan citizen who was wanted in 193 countries for a complaint from Spain for the crime of drug trafficking. In addition, he is being investigated for a criminal police record committed in Colombia », he said.
He specified that there are a large number of photographic publications of the detainee with the pseudo leaders of the Venezuelan opposition. He appears with Julio Montoya, Henrique Capriles, Marco Aurelio Quiñonez (Guaidó’s right-hand man), as well as with Juan Guaidó himself.
Cabello said that he will propose to the National Assembly the creation of an Asset Control Office.
He pointed out that the country must have a financial control body similar to the Office of Foreign Assets Control, OFAC, of the United States, to impose sanctions on all people and in particular on politicians from the extremist opposition sector, for money obtained by the drug trafficking and money laundering.
