The first secretary general of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, urged countries like Colombia and Chile to solve their problems because “in Venezuela we solve ours”
The first general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, assured this Monday, November 24, that Venezuela “does not get involved in anyone’s internal affairs” and defended. “We are a country of peace.” These statements are given in response to accusations from Colombia and Chile linking the ruling party with violent events in those countries.
Lgbti community activist Yendri Velásquez and internationalist Luis Peche were shot in Colombia recently. An attack against a militant of the Vente Venezuela political organization in Chile was also reported. In both cases, the opposition has claimed that they are cases of international repression; but Cabello denies it.
Diosdado Cabello described the case involving Velásquez and Peche in Colombia as “passionate,” assuring that it was “a problem between them, which they resolved head-to-head” and not a politically motivated event. He also said that the attack against a member of Vente Venezuela in Chile was a robbery: “But they accused the revolution. It doesn’t surprise us because Chile invents something every day. “That is a crime problem in Chile.”

The Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace also dismissed these accusations and stated that “all those stories of lies against our country fall apart on their own,” while urging Colombia and Chile to resolve their problems. “in Venezuela we solve ours”he added, while insisting: “We are not sending anyone anywhere to do absolutely anything.”
«Let each country solve its problems. Here we continue working, preparing for whatever the weather may be,” he concluded.
Cabello denounced that there is an international campaign to point out Venezuela “with one bizarre thing after another”, with the objective – he assured – of justifying external pressures. Faced with this, he maintained that the PSUV promotes a “prolonged active resistance” to confront what it considers attacks against the country. He explained that this strategy includes organizational phases within the party, among them the activation of the Bolivarian Committees of Comprehensive Bases and the new structure of “comprehensive community commands.”
In addition, he announced a mobilization for Tuesday, November 25 in Caracas and video conferences with the states to coordinate activities. He pointed out that on Thursday, Friday and Saturday the party will hold internal organization days and that the “operation order” of this new structure will be given soon.
