The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, reported this Monday that the PSUV and allied parties are ready to participate in the electoral processes planned for this year 2025.
This was stated in the PSUV’s weekly press conference, in which he noted that 38 political organizations joined the call for dialogue to make proposals on how and when the electoral processes will be carried out.
In 2025 – he said – elections for governors, mayors, legislative councils, councilors and the National Assembly must be held, as well as Popular Consultations.
He highlighted that the Psuv works in an organized manner under the Magna Carta to defend the country’s democracy.
Relations with the US
After the inauguration this Monday of President Donald TrumpCabello said that the Government of President Nicolás Maduro is willing to establish relations with the United States based on mutual respect.
“Respect is the only thing we ask for, we respect everyone, that they respect us and we will have transparent relations,” said Cabello, explaining that “relations with the United States or with any country in the world depend on the President of the Republic.”
Also, he wished the people of the United States the best and advocated that peace reign in the world.
“A very complicated and difficult period is coming, especially due to the conditions in which the people of the United States are,” he said.
Displaced
With respect to the displaced people from Colombiastated that it is not the first nor the last time that Venezuela helps the Colombian people.
“The Colombian people have moved to Venezuela in search of peace, as a result of the violence that exists in their territory. That is not new, up to 5 million Colombians came to Venezuela in the past and here we gave them a hug,” he assured.
“Venezuela cannot turn its back on our Colombian brothers, we have never done that and even less so in the Revolution. President Nicolás Maduro gave the order for immediate attention to the displaced and the Simón Bolívar Task Force was activated, the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) was deployed, three Rapid Reaction Units (URRAS) were activated, we have hospitals, shelter and care centers,” he explained.
Military exercises Bolivarian Shield
He pointed out that the Psuv joins the military exercises Bolivarian Shield 2025called for January 22 and 23.
“The colleagues from the National Directorate of the PSUV actively join; That has been the instruction of President Nicolás Maduro, that we all join in on January 22 and 23,” Cabello said after reading the statement from the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).
He reaffirmed that “all Venezuelans who love this country are also invited to these exercises, it is a rehearsal operation and popular-military-police exercise, exercises that ensure the stability of the country on borders, strategic places, fields, spaces of the Homeland.”

Likewise, he said that on January 23 the revolutionary people will also march to remember that historic date. “So that the people of Venezuela are never betrayed again, that is what we celebrate, so that those who betrayed the people, who later formed themselves into what they called the Punto Fijo Pact, do not appear and never return again,” express.
The country is at peace
He reaffirmed that despite the threats and attacks, the country is at peace. In this sense, he said that on January 10, in a heartfelt act, of the highest level of patriotism, Nicolás Maduro was sworn in as president for the period 2025-2031.
“January is gone. Intense days but there is an extraordinary calm and joy, we must celebrate peace. All the attempts at destabilization, the threats, have collided with the shield of the Homeland,” he pointed out.
