The Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, emphasized that behind the entire mercenary operation reported this Saturday is the ultra-right-wing María Corina Machado who also has “a fight” with the fugitive from justice Leopoldo López to control an operation against Venezuela.
“They call it the liberation of Venezuela, they are looking at who controls it,” Cabello said Saturday night in a special interview with the Telesur channel.
“Linking them to the opposition is not a whim, they are in talks, they thought this operation was very easy; the fact that we captured them and that we have these weapons (400 rifles) in our possession is a hard blow for them,” he said.
He reiterated that the governments of the United States and Spain are behind the violent plans. “We would like the United States Government to speak out and prohibit the use of its territory to conspire against another country. They are campaigning, and it is unlikely that they will touch on this issue,” he argued.
“Instead of sticking its head in the hole like an ostrich, Spain should be investigating, because what the CNI (Spanish National Intelligence Centre) is doing is something that I cannot be doing without anyone knowing about,” he said.
He added that “it is important to know that what has been reported is only a part, the CNI knows that we have more information.”
“The operation is being dismantled. It is being confronted. The United States is leading this operation and Spain was going to supply the foreign mercenaries to carry out this operation,” insisted Minister Cabello.
He explained that in recent days the mercenary operation has been linked to the events that occurred on July 29 and 30, when the extremist opposition called for violence after being defeated in the presidential elections.
In this regard, he revealed a conversation between the detained US soldier and a criminal operator of the opposition based in Petare known by the alias of “El Flaco”, who told him on July 28 that they were going to “kill even the dog”, in relation to the wave of violence unleashed hours later.
Who is Wilbert Joseph Castaneda Gomez?
Diosdado Cabello reiterated his complaint about the capture of the active duty US military of the elite Navy SEAL corps, Wilbert Joseph Castañeda Gómez, who participated in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2009. “He has vast experience in sabotage, explosives, urban combat, parachuting, and is an expert in mixed weapons and rifles; and he was captured here in Venezuela on September 1 in the mountainous area of Colonia Tovar,” he explained.
“He entered Venezuela through a woman who was the partner of a negative leader of the Aragua Train. Since he arrived in the country he began to make contacts with politicians and criminal groups. In addition, on his phones “there are contacts and conversations of very high criminal interest,” he added.
He also specified that Castañeda Gómez has a record of entering the country on two occasions, once in March and again on July 14, during which time he remained between Colombia and Venezuela.
“This man is the one who has been directing all operations since election day (July 28),” he revealed.
“It is important that our people know what we are facing and that they also trust the security agencies,” he stressed.
A tropicalized military man
“They went with this tropicalized character,” Cabello said in relation to the US intentions to use a person with the same Latin American phenotype, seeking not to repeat the gringo mercenaries of Caucasian morphology.
“It is important to know that this person worked in special Navy SEAL units focused on Latin America, because they are made up of people who speak Spanish perfectly, like this person,” he explained.
The Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace added that two citizens of Spanish origin, a Czech citizen and an American expert in computer hacking are also in custody.
“They are part of a large plan of street terrorist actions and cyber attacks that we have already experienced,” he recalled.
Earlier this Saturday, during a press conference, Minister Cabello announced the capture of the active US military officer who is leading a terrorist plan to generate violence and chaos in the country, as well as to carry out the assassination of several leaders of the Bolivarian Revolution, including President Nicolás Maduro.
