“We are ready for battle, to defend victory, and a fire that catches fire must be watered in time. Here the elections are held by the CNE, not by imperialism or bitter men and women,” said Diosdado Cabello, vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), from Tucupita, while accompanying a closing mobilization of Nicolás Maduro’s campaign in Delta Amacuro.
Cabello rejected the fact that a sector of the opposition has indicated that the results will be announced at 6 p.m., emphasizing that the only body authorized to do so is the National Electoral Council.
“They say that at 6 pm they will give some results – he said – through the spokesmen who sell out their country, proclaiming themselves winners of an election. Here the elections are held by the CNE,” reiterated the leader of the PSUV.
“We Chavistas know that a great victory awaits us (…) they are not going to threaten us or scare us after 26 years of having endured conspiracies and blockades. They are calculating very badly, you bastards,” he warned.
He assured that the Delta is Chavista and Bolivarian, full of happy and enthusiastic people, so “the bitter ones will not go to party.”
Cabello said that the Chavistas will remain in the streets once they vote and “they know it, imperialism knows it and we are ready for that battle,” he said.
He added that with the Delta “they have never been able to and they will never be able to” and that is why he affirmed that in 50 years the Patarucos will be “just like today with their international friends saying that they are going to win.”
