For his recent interpretation of “Alma Llanera”, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, severely criticized the singer Danny Ocean, calling it disrespectful and “dirty”, and used a video to show media manipulation.
During the 555th broadcast of his program “Con el Mazo Dando”, Cabello asserted that the singer “starts singing the Alma Llanera, to dirty such a beautiful song, to disrespect all Venezuelan singers.”
The leader of the PSUV called for a large movement of rejection against “those little characters, dragged into imperialism,” and declared that, in reality, these artists “are agents of imperialism.” In addition, he reiterated that with his attitude, Ocean “disrespects all Venezuelan singers, women and men, and writers.”
The leader also criticized the artist’s lifestyle, which he assured represented a bad example for youth. «They take him out of concerts drugged to the core. Is that an example for the youth of Venezuela? No. It is a bad symbol,” Cabello emphasized.
Finally, Cabello assured that these types of figures represent “the decadent Venezuela that these people on the extreme right long for.”
