Cabello: Corruption network in Maracaibo financed the extreme right

The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Diosdado Hairdenounced this Wednesday that the taxes collected in the Maracaibo municipality of the Zulia state finance the actions of the extreme right through a wide network of corruption.

“All the taxes that were collected in the Maracaibo municipality were to be delivered to the political parties of the extreme right, and some that are not from the extreme right,” he explained.

Cabello noted that despite having warned that an audit process would be carried out, those involved continued with their actions.

“There was an audit by the Comptroller’s Office and it is there, but everything that there is is so obvious that the Public Ministry and the State security agencies have had to act,” Cabello said when referring to the arrest of the mayor of that town. , Rafael Ramírez.

Furthermore, he recalled that sectors of the opposition continue to classify public officials who are involved in acts of corruption as alleged political prisoners.

Possible escape of María Machado

Cabello commented that there is a possibility that the opponent María Corina Machado will leave Venezuela due to the actions of former candidate Edmundo González Urrutia in Madrid, Spain, where she would be “playing her own board and in her equation María Corina is increasingly further away.”

He added that Machado fears that Urrutia’s betrayals “will force her to leave Venezuela, which is why she has everything arranged through two routes, one is through a Central American country and the other is through a European country.”

Review of electoral laws

Regarding the process of reviewing the electoral laws convened by the National Assembly, the first vice president of the PSUV indicated that this political organization “is going to request that the entire issue of participation be reviewed. “Who can and who can’t.”

“If you have asked for an invasion against your country, you cannot be a candidate, in other parts of the world you would be imprisoned,” he emphasized.

He highlighted the decision of the Legislative Branch to summon representatives of political parties and social movements that were in the last presidential elections to join the process.
