Cabello confirms arrest of Enrique Márquez: He has ties to a gringo agent

The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, reported that this Wednesday the former opposition presidential candidate Enrique Márquez was arrested, whom he indicated was linked to the American FBI agent also apprehended in the last few hours.

“There they came out saying that he is ‘a holy child of the blade.’ There are no saints here and if there is less money, in that opposition everything is contaminated,” he said during broadcast 509 of the program Con El Mazo Dando.

Cabello said that Márquez is linked “with the gringo from the FBI” and with the son-in-law of the opposition extremist Edmundo González Urrutia. He added that the former rector of the National Electoral Council (CNE) “is a very good friend” of politicians Juan Barreto and María Alejandra Díaz.

The Bolivarian leader also read a document written by Enrique Márquez in which he proposes swearing in González Urrutia as president in a diplomatic headquarters outside Venezuela, thus ignoring the will of the Venezuelan people who re-elected President Nicolás Maduro for the period 2025-2026. .

“The one who was in front of that is called Enrique Márquez, he is part of the coup d’état that they want to carry out in Venezuela,” he pointed out.

Cabello asserted that in the Venezuelan opposition “there are no angels,” while criticizing the statements of the Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, in defense of the opponent. “Keep defending him, you heard Petro, you are defending a breastfed child. “He may be your friend, but he is a criminal,” he said.

Earlier this Wednesday, national and international media reported Márquez’s arrest, although they did not report the reason for his arrest.
