Cabello calls for the disappearance of the “old meritocracy” of the oil sector

The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, urged this Friday the working class of the oil industry to work to eliminate the “old meritocracy” from the sector. imposed during the IV Republic.

“You have to have your feet on the ground to plan. You have to be very firm, remember where we came from. We came from that old meritocracy that was only for friends. Has it disappeared? No, but it must be disappeared, because they hurt us, and that meritocracy be changed for love of the country, and be turned into a practice of constant example,” Cabello said during a meeting with the oil sector in the state of Monagas, in which the Minister for Petroleum, Rafael Tellechea, also participated.

“A union leader has to be the best worker. Leadership is learned, on a day-to-day basis, by understanding what is being done. Going from meritocracy, from offices, from work in the field, it costs, it costs a lot,” he added.

Given the situation that occurred in the oil company after the so-called Pdvsa-Cripto case related to facts of corruption In the industry, Cabello called on popular power to build the state company from scratch, for which he asserted that for these actions the unity of the entire sector is necessary.

“We are going to build, but starting from scratch, but for that we have to be united,” he stressed.

It should be remembered that, last April, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saabreported that the Public Ministry (MP) since 2017 has investigated 31 corruption schemes linked to the oil industry, of which 232 people have been prosecuted and 76 have been convicted.

On the other hand, Cabello expressed the confidence that President Nicolás Maduro has in the working class, to raise the oil industry.

“No one is going to raise the oil industry if it is not the PDVSA workers. President Maduro trusts the workers of the oil industry, ”he pointed out.

Tellechea: I am one more worker

For his part, the People’s Power Minister for Petroleum, Pedro Tellechea, reported that since January crude oil production has risen “from 630,000 barrels per day to more than 850,000 barrels,” he said.

“This result is thanks to the workers. Do not see me but as one of you. I am one more worker, ”he said.

Tellechea, on the other hand, announced a Pilot Health Plan, to serve the entire working class and the relatives of Petróleos de Venezuela. “We come to plan to execute exactly what the workers need without errors,” he asserted.

Likewise, he informed that all areas of the industry are being promoted and asked for all the support to advance in the revival of the national oil class.

The National Government maintains a fight against corruption in the country, with the recent investigations of the case for corruption plots of the National Superintendency of Cryptoactives (Sunacrip) that carried out oil operations parallel to Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), a case known as PDVSA- crypto.
