Minister Diosdado Cabello, during broadcast 562 of his program “Con el Mazo Dando”, maintained that the amnesty represents an act of high spirit, but does not entail forgetfulness and specified that the Amnesty Law does not contemplate future crimes, emphasizing that this legal instrument cannot be interpreted as an authorization to commit punishable acts.
Cabello joked about the supposed great annoyance that the approval of the Amnesty Law in Venezuela has generated within some sectors. He specified that it is not a coincidence since the main promoters who reject this Law are the same ones who used the name of the so-called “political prisoners” to obtain financial resources, funds and fill their pockets through the so-called Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO).
He said that those who requested foreign military intervention against Venezuela are the same ones who today promote a campaign against the Amnesty Law and pointed out that Venezuelan extremism desperately seeks to implode the progress achieved between Caracas and Washington.
The leader warned that certain political sectors try to evade their responsibilities under an appearance of innocence, which is why he warned about the importance of maintaining historical memory about the actions of those who are currently fugitives from Venezuelan justice, specifically mentioning the case of the opponent, Antonio Ledezma.
In his speech, the general secretary of the PSUV recalled that Ledezma served 15 years since his initial arrest before fleeing the country. He described him as responsible for violent acts during his administration as governor of the former Federal District, including the repression against students of the Central University of Venezuela.
Likewise, he denounced that in the past anti-riot vehicles were used to attack older adults who were demanding their rights and pensions. Cabello emphasized that these criminal records cannot be erased by pardon measures, since they are part of a history of violence against the people.
He also stressed that “justice must prevail over the irresponsibility of those who seek to destabilize the nation.” He insisted that society must remember these events to prevent figures linked to repression from regaining spaces of power in national politics.
María Machado ignored Senator Rick Scott
Cabello also commented that María Corina Machado did not respond to the formal invitation to attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address made by US Senator Rick Scott.
The senator from Florida would detail that, despite having extended the proposal for Machado to be his special guest at this event of high political relevance in the United States Congress, he did not receive a response from his work team and that he claimed to be unaware of the reasons why the leader did not accept or process the invitation.
In her opinion, María Machado finally demonstrated that she did not have a political strategy, and assured that all her narrative and photo festival on social networks did not serve to consolidate a real project before the country.
Cabello supports new appointments in the Citizen Power
Cabello expressed his support for the appointment of lawyer Davoe in the Prosecutor’s Office and Tarek William Saab in the Ombudsman’s Office as those in charge of strengthening the country’s legal and administrative system and stressed that this movement responds to the need to provide continuity to the functions of protecting citizens’ rights.
“We continue to advance along the right path, as it should be,” the leader emphasized when validating the legitimacy of the new positions. With these words, he confirmed that the Venezuelan State maintains its operation under the schemes established in the current legal system.
