Cabello affirms that the Police are ready to defend Venezuela from “any threat”

Diosdado Cabello: "There are people who ask for dialogue because they only want to be heard"

Cabello accused Venezuela’s majority opposition of “allying” with criminal gangs to generate “unrest” and “fear” in the Venezuelan people.

The Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, assured this Friday the 19th that the police forces are ready to defend the country from “any threat”, in the midst of the United States military deployment in the Caribbean that escalated with the order to block sanctioned oil tankers leaving and entering Venezuela.

“Today Venezuela is a territory of peace, that is how it should continue to be, because when we talk about popular, military, and police fusion, it is that our police officers today are ready and willing to defend the homeland from any threat, internal or external,” said the official at an event for the delivery of vehicles and uniforms to the State security forces, in Caracas.

Cabello maintained that even if the “most powerful empire in the world” is, the Police say they are present to “defend the homeland.”

In addition, he accused Venezuela’s majority opposition of “allying” with criminal gangs to generate “unrest” and “fear” in the Venezuelan people.

Seizures: almost 70 tons of drugs so far in 2025

Cabello also reported that they have seized “almost” 70 tons of drugs since the beginning of the year and highlighted that this is the highest figure since 2005, when Caracas broke its agreement with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

The minister, who did not detail the exact amount, stressed that this result represents an achievement by the officials of the State security forces.

The United States government accuses Nicolás Maduro’s administration of sending drugs to the United States and accuses him of leading the Cartel of the Suns. Since mid-August, he ordered a military deployment in Caribbean waters and later in the Pacific to combat drug trafficking cartels. More than 25 boats and nearly 100 people have died in these operations.

This Thursday, Donald Trump assured that he does not rule out the possibility of a war with Venezuela.
