Santo Domingo. – The Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (CAASD) completed the installation of 20-inch diameter pipes on the Yamasá highway, in the San Felipe de Villa Mella sector, which will make the water supply more efficient drinking water from dozens of sectors located around the aforementioned road.
The information released through a press document indicates that the CAASD brigades, technicians and engineers worked continuously in the area for ten months, however, the downpours that have occurred in recent weeks have caused the operations will slow down.
These works to reinforce the service directly benefit some 178,000 inhabitants of the sectors: Paraíso Escondido; Mata Los Indios in its phases A and B; Progress; Satellite Villa; The hope; Light and life; The Morenos; Mojao Monkey; Licey and Palmero.
This action is part of the policy to solve problems of supply in the drinking water service that has been launched by the director of the CAASD, engineer Felipe Suberví, asserting the intentions of President Luis Abinader, with a view to guaranteeing the precious liquid in sectors that had been forgotten.
The document indicates that the stakeout of 2,483.94 linear meters was carried out, the excavation and placement of pipes, field density tests, placement of fill material and base, placement of special pieces and repair of existing services.
Also, the air valves, gates, pipe joints and hydrostatic tests were placed, culminating in the replacement of asphalt and signaling for traffic management.
For these purposes, the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (CAASD) made an investment of RD$101,849,396.94 for the benefit of residents in the sectors that make up the community of San Felipe de Villa.
