Due to forgetting their directives, 26 students from two schools in Chiscas, Boyacá, were not enrolled. The Attorney General’s Office had to intervene.
Boyaca News.
The 11th grade students of the educational institutions San Alberto Magno and Técnica Agropecuaria Chiscas could not register for the next Saber Pro tests, due to forgetting their directives, that is the complaint of the unusual case registered in Boyacá.
According to what was said on W Radio, there would be 26 students who would be left without taking the State exams this year.
For her part, the rector of the Agricultural Technical Institution, Rosa Meza, excused herself.
“A memory lapse, I did not enroll the 11th grade students, for which I ask for public excuses that I know do not correct the damage caused, but that help me recognize the mistake on my part,” said the rector.
Judicial failure
To remedy her mistake, the rector stated that she went to the ICFES offices on August 16, there they asked her to send a letter requesting that the students be allowed to change the calendar, that is, enroll in a group as an institution.
However, the tests would be done in November and if the request is not accepted, “students would have to present themselves in March 2023.”
Even so, the Attorney General’s Office intervened and Boyacá judges ordered ICFES and school principals to advance the procedures so that the students can present the tests on September 4.
“In part, a thank you to God and to the entities that can intervene so that a human error does not harm an entire educational institution. I hope that God performs a miracle and the boys can present themselves to the ICFES”, thanked the board of directors of the Chiscas Agricultural Technical School.
For now, the petition is in process.
This fact had not been registered and for this reason, authorities called attention to the directives of institutions, public and private.
These tests are mandatory, and in several universities, private or public, they are still necessary to grant places and even scholarships.
