What happened in February also responds to the updating of generation prices for the regulated market as a result of the quarterly settlement of contracts between electricity generation and distribution companies.

Another factor that allowed the reduction, according to Osinerg, is “the quarterly update of the additional charges to the electricity transmission rate that allow to compensate the contracts of the cold reserve plants, the generation premium with renewable energy resources, the unit charge for FISE and the electricity generation capacity charge, as well as the entry into commercial operation of the Tintaya-Azángaro transmission line”.

It is the obligation of the regulator to review every month the electric rates and based on updating formulas and values of indicators such as the Wholesale Price Index, the price of the dollar, the price of gas, among others, a decision is made.
