Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin and Anca Faur, executive vice president of Buzz Aldrin Ventures, were married in a private ceremony.
“On my 93rd birthday (…) I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur and I have married,” Aldrin tweeted, along with photos of him and Faur, who is reportedly 63. years.
“We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles and we are as excited as eloping teenagers,” added the astronaut.

Aldrin’s three previous marriages ended in divorce.
The American astronaut is the last survivor of the Apollo 11 mission, during which he and Neil Armstrong became the first people to set foot on the Moon, on July 20, 1969.
Aldrin went down to the Moon right after Armstrong. The mission’s third crew member, Michael Collins, remained in lunar orbit in the command module Columbia, the only means of transportation the astronauts had to return to Earth. Collins died in April 2021 and Armstrong in 2012.
Since retiring from NASA in 1971, Aldrin has been a strong advocate of space exploration. A crater on the Moon near the Apollo 11 landing site is named in his honor.
