This Saturday, April 23, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavusoglu, paid a visit to Uruguay to sign the terms of reference to start the negotiation process leading to a Free Trade Agreement between both countries, and inaugurate the Turkish embassy in Uruguay.
In this framework, a group of people belonging to the Armenian community protested the visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister to Montevideo. Upon leaving the brand new embassy, the Turkish minister made a gesture to the Armenian demonstrators.
The Armenian Cause Council published the video of the event on Twitter and stated that the Turkish foreign minister left “making the gesture of the Turkish terrorist organization Gray Wolves to the Armenian protesters. A shameful gesture that demonstrates the real purpose of this visit”.
“We regret that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shelters those who claim terrorism”, sentenced the Armenian Cause Council.
In the audio of the video you can see that the protesters call him a “murderer” and ask him to leave Uruguay.
The “Grey Wolves” are an extreme right-wing terrorist paramilitary group banned in many countries.
