Acopi Bogotá and Cundinamarca, a union that brings together micro, small and medium-sized companies in the region, asked the candidates for the Presidency of Colombia to develop in greater depth and level in the economic proposals, since the current situation deserves precise and accurate solutions.
María Alejandra Osorio, Executive Director of Acopi Bogotá-Cundinamarca, pointed out that “for national producers it is important to listen to their proposals to solve some of the structural problems that afflict them, such as the need for an industrial policy for the recovery of manufacturing production”.
“Also, the rescue of the internal market; the need for fair trade rules; the country cost reduction; the recovery of the purchasing power of Colombians; or the renegotiation of Free Trade Agreements (FTA)which have hit national production because they favor the importation of manufactures and food that were previously produced in the country, breaking national production and employment,” he said.

Other issues that concern businessmen according to Acopi are the increase in inflation, the high indebtedness that the country presentsand the shortage of some supplies due to the international situation.
The director of Acopi indicated that “from the business sector the candidates are kindly encouraged to debate and democratic discussions serve to educate and inform to the Colombians.
Additionally, the union looks forward to hearing about the proposals and commitments on growth and productive developmentstrengthening of MSMEs, support for Science, Technology and Research and employability.

Osorio concluded that “we call for the need to build country with productive development that promotes the well-being of the population”.
