HOLY SUNDAY. The renowned Dominican businessman José Manuel Paliza García died on Friday nightat 76 years of age. Paliza, an emblematic figure in the country’s business sector, died after facing health complications.
His departure leaves a void in the Dominican business community, where he was widely respected for his tireless work and contributions to economic development.
For more than five decades, it stood out for its capacity for innovation, consolidating companies that generated thousands of jobs in the Dominican Republic. Besides, Paliza played a fundamental role as president of the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP)from where he promoted key initiatives to strengthen the private sector and its relationship with the government and civil society.
Its commitment was not only limited to economic growth, but also to social well-being, promoting corporate responsibility projects to benefit the most vulnerable sectors of the country.
A life dedicated to public and private service
Paliza was an active member of various business organizations and a strong defender of the competitiveness of the Dominican Republic in international markets. During his tenure at CONEP, he was recognized for his leadership skills and his contribution to the creation of policies that fostered the stability and growth of the private sector.
The funeral of José Manuel Paliza will take place this Saturday, September 28 at 4:00 in the afternoon at the Puerta del Cielo Cemetery Park, where family and friends will gather to say their last goodbye.
