The Business Confidence Index (ICE), measured by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), dropped 6.7 points of October for November. Thus, the indicator reached 91.5 points, on a scale from zero to 200, its lowest level since February this year (91.1 points).
ICE consolidates the confidence indices of businessmen in four sectors of the economy surveyed by the FGV: industry, construction, commerce and services.
Fall
The Current Business Situation Index, which measures the perception of the Brazilian business community in relation to the present, dropped 4.1 points and reached 95.2 points. The Expectations Index had a more pronounced drop: eight points, reaching 87.9.
Four productive sectors had a fall in the ECI in November. The most intense one was observed in trade (-10.8 points). Then come services (-5.4 points), construction (-5.3 points) and industry (-3.6 points).
With the sharpest drop, trade also has the lowest confidence index: 87.2 points. Construction has the highest index: 95.6 points.
