From tonight at 00:00 hours a collective strike throughout the country, convened by the Unión Tranviarios Automotor (UTA), which will affect all short and medium-distance passenger transport lines in the interior of the country.
This measure of force will be extended for 48 hours, that is to say that the collective strike It will continue until Thursday throughout the country, with the exception of the City of Buenos Aires and the AMBA region.
The collective strike is given at the request of “Wage increase for passenger transport workers in the interior of the country”as indicated by the UTA, through a statement signed by its general secretary, Roberto Carlos Fernández.
“We have resolved a 48-hour stoppage of activities for all short and medium-distance passenger transport workers in the interior of the country starting at 00:00 on Tuesday 26,” they indicated.
This, given that, from the union, they affirmed that they will not allow “salaries below inflation or lower assets in the interior than those of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires.”
Under this same line and with the slogan “equal pay for equal work”, the transporters will cease activities for 48 hours, so that the Government listens to their claims.
This, since they consider that all instances and “necessary steps to achieve a salary increase for passenger transport workers in the interior of the country” were exhausted.
In addition, the union invited all workers in the sector to participate in the strike with commitment, since their salaries must also be above inflation.
Which lines will be affected by the collective strike
With the exception of CABA and AMBA; with the measure of force All short and medium-distance bus lines that circulate throughout the country will be affected. CABA and AMBA are not included as they have already agreed on a salary adjustment.
The workers plan a great mobilization from 00:00 this Tuesday to the provincial governments waiting for a response that will solve their claims.
