More than twenty musicians they saw death up close after the minibus in which they were traveling got lost and overturned on the side of the road in the Yanamarca area, Acolla district, in Jauja. After the impasse, the members of the Huancayo Monumental band of musicians were evacuated by the police to the Domingo Olavegoya hospital in Jauja, where the cries of pain from the wounded were heartbreaking.

The damaged vehicle, license plate D6X-952 and belonging to the Tumi de Oro company, left Huancayo for the district of Acobamba, in Tarma, where the musicians planned to entertain the traditional Media Naranja festival on the occasion of the Week Holy.
Police officers from Acolla Highway Control, under the command of PNP Captain Elizabeth Altamiza, assisted and transferred the injured to the nearest hospital.
The causes of the accident are unknown but it is not ruled out that it is speeding that has influenced the outcome.

Among the injured are: Ángel Cerrón Criales, Brayan de la Cruz Ortiz, Chalco Areche Uchuypoma, Diego Tadeo Huamán, Danny Bautista Sánchez, Edinso Mancilla Huallpa, Eden Areche Uchuypoma, Ever Poma Trucios, Edgar Romero, Freddy Otae Reginaldo, Franco de la Cruz Vargas, Gustavo Yupanquin Chávez, Geancarlos Zevallos, Juan Sánchez Ancalle, Juan Carlos Tovar, Jeferson Sacay, Luis Ortiz Ortiz, Michael Landeo Cueto, Pedro Mantari Torpoco, Roger Flores, Mayo Alejo, Ronald Arias Anticona, Samuel Huaroc, among others.
