Santiago. The director of the Santiago Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (Coraasan), Andrés Burgos, affirmed that 2023 will be a year of strengthening the production of drinking water, with the rehabilitation of the Cibao Central aqueduct.
The executive said that with the completion of the rehabilitation works of the Noriega II plant, one cubic meter will be incorporated into the networks and the quality of the water that reaches the population will be improved.
Regarding Noriega I, Burgos reported that the components will arrive in February to expedite the rehabilitation work of this treatment plant, whose parts were ordered in the United States.
According to the director of Coraasan, by the beginning of 2024 the rehabilitation of the largest drinking water plant of 4 cubic meters will be completed, which will contribute to a better quality in the production of water and the recovery of the flow due to loss, through gates. and by cracks.
