A building collapsed in the city of Vila Velha, in the metropolitan region of Vitória, Espírito Santo. According to the Military Fire Department, the accident last night (21) left three dead. One person was injured.
Firefighters and the city government began searching for victims at the scene shortly after the collapse. The search continued throughout the night and ended in the early hours of today (22) when the victims were located.
The first was a woman, pulled out alive. She informed firefighters that there were three other people in the collapsed building. One of the victims, a teenager, was still alive as rescuers tried to pull her out of the rubble. But she also couldn’t resist and died.
Another woman and a man in his 70s were also found by rescue groups, both lifeless. City and Fire Department have not yet released information on possible causes of the collapse. The names of the victims were also not released.
