Different trade union organizations, representing teachers from the City of Buenos Aires (CABA), convened for this Thursday to a concentration and a press conference “in rejection of the closure of several careers of the teaching staff that the Buenos Aires Government intends to carry out.
The call will take place from 6:30 p.m., at the corner of Avenida Córdoba and Ayacucho, “where there will be a hug” to the Institute of Higher Education (IES) No. 1 “Alicia Moreau de Justo.”
“The teachers’ union UTE and Ademys, together with Cesge (Teacher authorities) and educational communities call a press conference and concentration in rejection of the closure of various careers for teachers that the Government intends to carry out,” the union organizations reported. .
As they said, “within hours of the end of the school year, the Government of the City of Buenos Aires notified the Teacher Training Institutes that it will close the first year of various careers.”
For this reason, they will demand “the immediate reopening of the Physics and Language and Literature Teachers of the Alicia M. de Justo and Mariano Acosta Teacher Training Institutes and guarantee entry to the more than 700 registered in the Psychopedagogy career”.
“Likewise, we will demand the opening of complementary registration for all careers in February 2023; the immediate titling of higher level teachers and the carrying out of a campaign to encourage and disseminate teacher training careers,” they finally listed in a statement. .
