Buenos Aires nurses stop by "reopening of parity and salary equalization"

The Association of Graduates in Nursing (ALE) and the Federation of Professionals of CABA carry out a hospital strike for 24 hours and a mobilization towards the Buenos Aires Ministry of Health in demand for “the reopening of parity and salary equalization for nursing” and in support of the “struggle of residents and attendees.”

The president of the ALE, Andrea Ramírez, explained that the reopening of parity is necessary “because what was signed (by the unions) is totally insufficient” and added that “we support residents and attendees, because if they win all our fights are strengthened ” .

“Today a nursing graduate with service leadership in charge and more than 20 years of seniority barely exceeds the poverty basket”Ramírez explained in a press release.

Likewise, the press secretary of the Federation of Professionals of CABA, Carolina Cáceres, considered that “in the hospitals of the richest city in Argentina there is a true state of assembly deliberation, a huge anger due to the miserable salary that the team of Health”.

He added that particularly nurses demand “salary equalization with professionals of Law 6035” and “inclusion in the Professional Health Career of our sector”.

According to both organizations, the nurses will gather at 10 o’clock at the corner of Corrientes and Callao avenues and will march to Bolívar 1, where the Buenos Aires Ministry of Health and the offices of its head, Fernán Quirós, are located.
