The video clip was filmed in The Pocitosneighborhood of the Marianao municipality in Havana, with the collaboration of the sociocultural and community project Akokandedicated to supporting low-income and vulnerable populations, especially children and young people.

A mural made for the filming of this topic, by the painter Javier Agudo, symbolizes the heart that heals, accompanied by signs that indicate the count or sum of the days that all these young people remain “clean.”

The project also had the support of Multimedia Center of the Ministry of Culturewhose participation was key to the materialization of this audiovisual proposal that privileges the truth of the testimonies and the strength of the message.

A letter that challenges

The song does not avoid the rawness of the subject. With verses like “There’s a bunch of kids breaking their brains / They got in that lap / Running out of money”the author portrays the reality of many Cuban families.

The topic also addresses the consequences of consumption in the family environment: “Drugs kill / And what is stronger: / It destroys in life those who did not choose to love you”referring to the suffering of mothers and loved ones who live with the pain of addiction.

In a hopeful but forceful tone, the song closes with a call to collective action: “If it’s the drug that fucks, let’s fuck the drug” and “I prefer to make a more supportive world / Where groups and solitaries fit”.

With “So as not to fall”, Good faith achieves a work that challenges, moves and opens a space for collective reflection on a growing challenge that hits Cuban society.

“So as not to fall”

Lyrics: Israel Rojas

Let’s see how I start…

There’s a pile of kids breaking their brains out.

Got into that lap

Left without a penny.

They have a fucked up life

They no longer assimilate even a kiss.

With pain of the soul.

Even the last thing is the bones.

That’s why I got out of all that.

That’s why I pray to God.

That’s why

I trust my process.

That’s why

now I can sleep.

I don’t need that.

A pack of rabid wolves

He is salivating, looking at the neck

of each of your dreams,

of each of your dreams.

A pack of rabid wolves

Threatening

looking at the neck

of each of your dreams,

of each of your dreams.

Feeling sad is not the same as feeling miserable.

Having a mistake is not the same as being a disaster.

Diet and exercise are not the same as fasting for weight loss.

Emergency expenses are not the same as stealing from home.

In your own home.

It is not the same to have control even in the smallest thing,

to know that what you consume became your owner.

As fragile as freedom is,

with the delicate.

There are those who play at sabotaging themselves and fall into the ambush.

A pack of rabid wolves

He is salivating, looking at the neck

of each of your dreams,

of each of your dreams.

A pack of rabid wolves

Threatening

looking at the neck

of each of your dreams,

of each of your dreams.

The drug kills.

Whether you are gold, bronze or silver.

Go with a tie or an espadrille.

The drug kills.

And what is stronger:

Destroy in life the one who did not choose to love you.

Who wonders why it was his bad luck

to live with you and with whoever impersonates you.

And day by day, for love hold on

that horror that you become.

Of course there are fractures, bitterness and garbage.

Of course there are gaps and support is needed.

The spark that lights fraternal fires,

In flammable souls it can unleash hell.

Your blood is not guilty even in a drop.

Sick without treatment is a defeat.

But I refuse to see the wolves in the cribs anymore.

He takes high science as a heavy hand.

With business of death, society does not dialogue.

If it’s the drug that fucks, let’s fuck the drug.

I don’t want it to be a historiographical issue.

There are already metastases when there is traffic.

I don’t want to imagine what’s coming next.

I prefer to face it with all seriousness.

I prefer to make a more supportive world,

where groups and solitary fit.

He who believes himself to be alive, does not live from him who believes he is a fool.

Not even incurable rage finds the wolf.

(The mother of the jíbaro in Varadero)

He who believes himself to be alive, does not live from him who believes he is a fool.

(And mine stuck to the sink).

He who believes himself to be alive, does not live from him who believes he is a fool.

Not even incurable rage finds a wolf.

(And mine crying all day).
