In the first five months of this year, the government’s budget execution registered a positive balance of RD$9,584.7 millionaccording to preliminary data from the General Directorate of the Budget (Digepres).
This figure is the product of the government executing income for RD$396,298.7 million and expenses for RD$386,714 million from January 1 to June 2 of this year.
The positive balance has been given, despite the fact that the government has had to increase subsidiesespecially to fuels, due to the Russian invasion in Ukraine.
The public debt interest amounted to RD$73,584.7 million in the indicated period. Until May 20, the payment of interest had been RD$67,140 million.

The financial sources were RD$147,136.8 million and the financial applications totaled RD$43,286 million, while the net indebtedness amounted to RD$103,850 million.
Consumption expenses were RD$139,638 million and current transfers totaled RD$136,386.9 million.
The institutions with the highest government spending were the Ministry of Education, with RD$84.106 million; the Ministry of Public Workswith RD$59,448 million; Ministry of the Presidencywith RD$33,418 million, and Ministry of Interior and Policewith RD$20,612 million.

The government executed RD$20,867.8 million in social security benefits, RD$749.5 million in subsidies to state companies and RD$564.5 in other current expenses, according to the institution it directs. Jose Rijo Presbot.
