In the Ministry of Economy they approved Bs 630,160 as a budget for the selection and appointment process of the State Attorney General, after the Senate corrected the technical inconsistencies in his request.

“The allocation of Bs 630,160 was approved.- (Six Hundred and Thirty Thousand One Hundred and Sixty 00/100 Bolivianos) intended exclusively for the development of the activities of said Commission.”reads the Ministry’s statement.

The Mixed Commission of Plural Justice presented the budget request on September 20, 17 days after the call for this process was issued.

Due to the importance of the request, the Ministry of Economy carried out the evaluation of the requirement immediately, however, “it presented technical inconsistencies which were corrected in coordination with the Senate Chamber, September 27”.

With that support, the Ministry of Economy denied the president of the Joint Justice Commission, Senator Roberto Padilla, who accused the Executive of “not approving the requested budget.”

“Considering the flexibility that exists in budget management, the Senate could prioritize and timely attend to the activities inherent to the selection and appointment of the State Attorney General, which demonstrates the lack of technical and political will of some senators,” they accuse. from the ministry.

This task of selecting and appointing the Attorney General began on September 3 with the issuance of the call. 76 applicants applied.
