Fans will have the opportunity to see one of the great names in national tennis, Bruno Soares, in action again in action, who retired at the end of 2022. This is because the Minas Gerais native will participate, starting next Friday (14), in the Legends Tennis Cup, a competition that will bring together some of the main names in the history of tennis in South America.
The tournament, which will be hosted by Clube Hebraica, in São Paulo, will also feature the participation of Argentines Gastón Gaudio (former number five in the world) and David Nalbadian (former number three), Chilean two-time Olympic champion Nicolás Massú (former number nine), Ecuadorian Nicolás Lapentti (former number six) and Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas (former number 19).
“It will be incredible to bring together so many legends of South American tennis here in São Paulo. The Legends Tennis Cup is more than a tournament, it is a celebration of sport, friendship and the stories we build on the courts. I am sure that the public will experience unforgettable moments”, declared Bruno Soares, who was champion of three Grand Slam doubles draws.
At the end of 2022, the Brazilian announced the end of his career as a professional tennis player. The announcement was made one day after the Minas Gerais and Scottish Jaime Murray were eliminated from the doubles bracket of the 2022 edition of the US Open.
