In a solemn session in the plenary of the House, they were represented by their wives, the anthropologist Clarisse Jabour and Alessandra Farias Sampaio, respectively. “The legacy of the two in defense of the original peoples and the Amazon will never be forgotten”, said deputy Reginaldo Lopes (PT-MG) on his Twitter account.
Another 29 medals were given to people or entities. Among those awarded are also the First Lady, Michelle Bolsonaro, the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, Father Júlio Lancellotti, jurist Ives Gandra Martins and General Carlos Alberto Santa Cruz.
