The former Secretary General of the Government Palace, Bruno Pacheco, He spoke from hiding and assured that he had not committed crimes, so he could not become an effective collaborator. “There are people who come to want to force me, suddenly, to make statements,” Pacheco assured in an exclusive interview with the Sunday Weekly Report.
When asked how he took the news about the request for 36 months of preventive detention for the Tarata Case that the Prosecutor’s Office supports against him, a hearing that will continue this Monday, Pacheco assured that “I have taken it in a very unfair and affected way, because -As we see- it is a product of disinformation, of media pressure that seeks, I believe, the vacancy of the presidency and I do not work objectively to seek the truth and the investigation.”
In addition, he highlighted that “I cannot be an effective collaborator because to be an effective collaborator I have to have committed a crime, or have committed an act of corruption and I have not done so. Therefore, he cannot be an effective collaborator.”
In this line he made it clear that “Yes, I can collaborate with justice by telling the truth and if with the truth that I am going to tell someone is going to be saved or some are going to stay, unfortunately it will have to be that way.”
Pacheco assured that if at any time he remained silent it was due to “defense strategy because it was necessary to know how far the investigations advanced.” In addition, he added that he is not going to say the names of those allegedly involved because “When the Prosecutor’s Office summons me and tells me to comment on situations, I will have to comment and I will have to tell the truth.”
He denies interference in the MTC
