Flamengo striker Bruno Henrique is related to facing Youth, on Thursday night (16) for the Brazilian Championship, even after being indicted by the Federal Police (PF) for involvement in a betting manipulation scheme involving soccer games.
In a note published after the player’s dismissal, Flamengo stated that “it was not officially communicated by any public authority about the facts being reported by the press about athlete Bruno Henrique.”
In addition, the Gávea Club has stated that “it is committed to compliance with the rules of sports fair play, but also advocates the application of the constitutional principle of presumption of innocence and due process of law, with emphasis on contradictory and broad defense, values that support the democratic rule of law”.
One of the targets of the operation at the time was Bruno Henrique.
The PF investigation, made from a communication made by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), investigates if the player took a yellow card, which then evolved to the red card, during a match for the 2023 Brazilian Championship to favor gamblers, including relatives of Bruno Henrique. The gamblers were also the subject of investigation by the PF.
