Bruno Henriquefront of Flamengo Brazilian, is being investigated in the framework of a case for alleged manipulation of sports bets in soccer matches, official sources reported this Tuesday.
The investigation seeks to determine whether the player purposely received two yellow cards during a Brazilian league match in November 2023 to favor bettors, including his relatives, who are also being investigated, according to reports. Brazil Agency (official).
The Federal Police reported that twelve search and seizure warrants were carried out this Tuesday, although it did not disclose the names of those investigated.
The institution stated that, if the facts investigated are confirmed, they represent a crime against “the uncertainty of the sporting result”, conduct classified in the General Sports Lawwhich carries penalties of up to six years in prison.
Flamengo said in a statement that it has not had access to the investigation documents, since the case remains a summary secret, and stated that it will collaborate with the authorities, while “giving its full support” to Bruno Henrique.

Flamengo also recalled that there was an investigation in the Superior Court of Sports Justice for suspicious yellow cards, but the case has already been closed, although it pointed out that the club does not know if it is the same case.
The operation, called ‘Spot-fixing’, is carried out by the Federal Police and the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro, which began from a communication made by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) based on reports from the Association Integrity in Betting International (IBIA) and Sportradar.
