THE Justice of the Federal District decided on Friday (25) to make defendant the striker Bruno Henrique, Flamengo, for the accusation of defrauding the result of sports competition.
The decision was issued by Judge Fernando Brandini Barbagalo of the 7th Criminal Court of Brasilia. The magistrate partially accepted the complaint filed by the prosecutor against the athlete for the alleged involvement in the scheme of manipulation of bets on the Internet (BETS).
Despite making the defendant striker, the Judge rejected the part of the complaint that accused Bruno Henrique from Estelionato and the prosecutors’ request to be obliged to pay $ 2 million bail.
THE Player was investigated for forcing a yellow card in the game against Santos, in the 2023 Brazilian Championship, in Brasilia, to benefit from him who made bets. In addition to the athlete, friends and family were also investigated.
Last year, Bruno was the target of an operation carried out by the Federal Police (PF) together with the Rio de Janeiro Public Prosecutor (MPRJ) and MPDFT. 12 search and seizure warrants were fulfilled.

This week, the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) denied a request from the player’s lawyers to nullify the investigation. The defense claimed that the case should be led by the Federal Court, not by the Federal District Court.
