Brugada's promise: inheriting positions in the CDMX Government

95% of the family members will remain in the offices from which their bases come, indicated José Carlos Acosta, general director of Personnel Administration and Administrative Development, of the city’s Secretariat of Administration and Finance.

“There is strong applause from his family and from all of us, as a recognition of this work in the Government of Mexico City. “What a better inheritance!” added the official.

The ‘Place by place’ program consists of unionized workers of the capital’s Government who are under Payroll 1 or 5 can decide to retire voluntarily and designate a direct family member to receive their place.

“With this, promoting an inclusive policy in strengthening the personal and family economy,” indicates the objective of the program in the guidelines issued by the General Directorate of Personnel Administration and Administrative Development in August 2024, before the start of the Brugada administration. .

campaign promise

The program was born from a campaign promise made by Brugada to the Single Union of Government Workers of Mexico City, when the current president was competing for Morena, PT and PVEM for the Head of Government.

“We will launch the ‘Plaza por Plaza’ retirement program: they will be able to leave a child or grandchild in a basic place and thereby support the family economy,” Brugada said at an event before thousands of SUTGCDMX members held at the Deportivo Lázaro Cárdenas, Venustiano Carranza mayor, on May 9, 2024.

Aaron Ortega Villa, president of SUTGCDMX, then described Brugada as “a sensitive and capable woman who has a robust government plan that will continue the advancement of workers’ rights.”
