Broli, the faithful dog of one of the victims of the tragedy in Dosquebradas, Risaralda

The pet accompanied his friend Eduardo under the coffin and in the middle of his wake. His eyes were noted “glassy and waterlogged.”

What happened in Dosquebradas has been a complete tragedy, the rains that caused the mountain to collapse and triggered the disaster still fall on the area.

In that sector, the community had already expressed fear and alerted about the risks in which it was due to a possible landslide.

A nightmare that became reality last Tuesday.

Earth, water, mud and rocks fell on several houses. In La Esneda, 16 victims have found 14 bodies; three of them under 6, 13 and 15 years of age, at least 2 disappeared and 28 wounded.

One of the victims of this tragedy was Eduardo, a man who earned his living as a janitor and who had a special friend.

Broli gave him the last goodbye

Eduardo was watched last night in Pereira, there were relatives, friends, acquaintances, colleagues and other loved ones.

However, there was an assistant to his wake that caught the attention of many. His name is Broli, a Creole dog that he used to feed, care for and walk.

The story of this faithful friend was known by Noticias Caracol, where they reported that the animal did not leave its companion’s side.

He was filled with sadness, his eyes glazed over and he looked quite sad.

When the tragedy occurred, Eduardo Porras was waiting for the bus to go to work, he worked at the school in La Esneda.

In Dosquebradas they continue rescuing pets

During the tragedy, in the sector they have managed to establish a care center to rescue pets, attend to them and take care of them.

They have got dogs, cats, chickens and other birds. However, getting them out of the mud has not been an easy task.

In fact, one of those cases was captured by a person who was in the place and celebrated having found the pet of one of the inhabitants of the area alive.

The dog was trembling, cold and with his eyes that showed the fear he felt for the situation that had happened.

Those who rescued him took him out on a board, covered him with a blanket and then transferred them to a shelter where they are being treated.

About the owners of the dog it has not been possible to know if it was any of the families or people who perished in the place, if it was one of the rescuers or the animal lived in the streets of the sector.
