Broken glass and a ‘MSME’ struck down by a crowd of children in Guantanamo

Broken glass and a 'MSME' struck down by a crowd of children in Guantanamo

The broken glass of the Huambo cinema and cultural center in Guantánamo, before a concert of the reggaeton Exen La Tiza, this Sunday, they have ended up paying, literally, the small company that organized the performance and an anonymous official.

According to a Facebook post from the newspaper Overcome, the damage to the cultural institution, “currently leased to the Marcapaso MSME,” occurred by “a large crowd of children and adolescents” at the gates of the venue on the occasion of the musician’s presentation.

Yoelvys Labañino, provincial director of Culture, declared to the official provincial newspaper that the cultural center “does not have the capacity to assimilate the large number of children who were waiting for the concert” and that for this reason “it was decided to move the presentation to the Pedro Agustín multifunctional plaza Pérez, with the presence of internal order agents, an ambulance, water pipe, etc.”.

Although the official himself said that the breaking of the windows in the Huambo did not cause injuries, several commentators on overcome They assure that there were indeed injuries from the glass and those who were run over on the floor.

On the other hand, according to the publication, the performance took place outdoors without further problems. However, the authorities terminated the contract with Marcapaso.

“It does not fit in my head that someone considers that this type of content is appropriate for girls and boys (I do not think it is appropriate for any type of audience)”

“The concert was scheduled without consulting the Provincial Directorate of Culture and it is not the first time that there have been irregularities with Pacemaker,” said Labañino, who did not specify to the official press what these irregularities consisted of.

In addition, the Guantánamo authorities dismissed the director of the Provincial Film Center, whose name they do not publish, and closed the cultural center “waiting to redefine its programming.”

Other post on Facebook he collected the opinion of “the communicator” of the Guantánamo government, who assured that what happened is “the reflection of education or, rather, of the bad education that we are giving to girls, boys, adolescents and young people.” The official attacked Exen La Tiza saying that he felt “gross” hearing what he “sings”.

“The lyrics of his songs are obscene, rude, with extremely explicit sexual language, his lyrics denigrate and disrespect women. Nothing, what the boy lets out of his mouth is fire,” he continued. “That is why it does not fit in my head that someone considers that this type of content is appropriate for girls and boys (I do not think it is appropriate for any type of audience), it does not fit in my head that there are mothers and fathers who allow their children listen to this type of ‘songs’, it does not fit in my head that from the institutional level we allow the promotion of content and figures that have nothing to do with the principles of our society and that, unfortunately, become icons of a certain public , especially girls, boys, adolescents and young people”.

In the publication of the official newspaper, however, the criticism is aimed at charging the private company and the singer with responsibility.

“In total disagreement with the throwing out of Pacemaker, tremendous lack of respect,” said Kuki Blanco. “The events that occurred this morning are not the fault of either the Pacemaker or the artist. It was only a social indiscipline caused obviously by the despair of the children to see the concert, here in Guantánamo there is nothing for them, there are no activities, and they just wanted to see something new,” laments the woman.

“To whom now are we going to demand or claim for the loss of cell phones, wallets, minor cards and all the other objects that our adolescents and young people lost?”

In the same sense, Hugo Govin opines, at length: “Let’s not blame the reggaeton players or the mypimes, etc. The total responsibility lies with the administrations and the law enforcement authorities! All these massive activities require a plan of contingencies that must be previously communicated to potential participants. There are local media outlets that must be put in function of the disclosure. Those managers must know which public will consume that music and make the pertinent coordination and arrangements”. The same user believes that “playing reggaeton ‘by hand’ to children and adolescents in a patriotic activity” is “an aberration”, and that the Police should have been present to impose order.

For her part, Evaluna de los Ángeles, who appeared as a witness to the events, assured that there were children injured by the glass, “not counting those who were run over when they were thrown to the ground by the crowd and other children fell on top of them.” . In addition, says the woman, she says that the young people “were victims of theft of their personal belongings, especially cell phones.”

“How is it possible that knowing in advance of the event and that the Huambo cinema does not have the capacity for so many people, they allowed the call to continue its course? Who are we going to demand or claim now for the loss of cell phones, wallets, cards as a minor and all the other objects that our adolescents and young people lost?”, he wonders without an answer, at the same time that he mistrusts the version of the authorities: “How is it that the ambulance, the water pipe and the agents appeared so quickly of order in such a short time, when these seizures have an organization and programming plan?”.
