British Prime Minister is ready to send troops to Ukraine if necessary

The British prime minister, Keir Starmer, said Sunday that he is ready to send soldiers to Ukraine if necessary to guarantee the security of the United Kingdom and Europe.

The United Kingdom has a leadership role in supporting kyiv in his war against Russia, which “also means being ready and willing to contribute guarantees to Ukraine, putting our own soldiers on the ground if necessary,” Starmer wrote in the newspaper Daily Telegraph.

“I do not say this lightly,” added Starmer, who claimed to feel “deeply the responsibility of putting British soldiers and welded in danger.”

But he insisted that helping to guarantee the security of Ukraine “helps guarantee the security of our continent and the security of this country.”

Starmer confirmed that he will participate on Monday in a high -level meeting in Paris to address the growing concerns about US attempts to finish the war in Ukraine.

He also said that he would meet “in the next few days” with the US president, Donald Trump, and that the United Kingdom has an important function in ensuring that the United States and Europe work closely.

“American support will be critical and a US security guarantee for lasting peace is essential, because only the United States can deter Putin to attack again,” Starmer said in reference to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

The rulers of Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands and Denmark will meet before the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, on February 24.

European countries fear that if Ukraine is forced by Washington to accept a bad agreement, Putin will be able to proclaim a victory and will leave the continent at the mercy of a emboldened Kremlin.

“We face a unique moment in a generation for the collective security of our continent,” Starmer warned in the article published Sunday night.

“This is not just about the future of Ukraine, it is existential for Europe as a whole,” he said.
