The British media The Economist reported that the Bioceanic Corridor is the most important project carried out by the National Government in the Chaco and that it plans to turn it into a development pole.
“Eventually it could compete with the Panama Canal. The new highway in Paraguay that could eventually compete with the Panama Canal. That is to say, if the governments of Brazil and Argentina also build their connecting roads”, reads part of the publication.
The article also describes the main characteristics of the Chaco, which has a vast expanse of swamps, scrublands and savannahs that stretches across Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina and has been difficult to traverse for a long time.
