The british chamber of commerce in the Dominican Republic (Britcham) celebrated its 35th anniversary with a reception held at the residence of the ambassador of the United KingdomMockbul Ali Obe, where they highlighted the actions of that entity to strengthen the ties of bilateral trade with the country.
The president of Britcham, Amauris Vásquez, highlighted that “in 35 years of hard work we are glad that the camera has contributed significantly to the strengthening of the bilateral relations of the Dominican Republic with Great Britain. This work has had the collaboration of the British embassy in the country”.
He stressed that the organization has made a vital contribution to converting Britain in one of the main partners of the Dominican Republic, thanks to the role played by past presidents, directors and British diplomats posted in Santo Domingo.
In the activity Fernando González Nicolás was recognized for his role as founder and first president of Britcham, in 1987, who said he was honored and satisfied by the achievements made by the chamber in 35 years, indicates a press release.
The note highlights that the meeting between leaders and executives was attended by Joel Santos, Minister of the Presidency; David Rutley, Minister for the Americas and the Caribbean at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Department of the United Kingdomas well as past presidents and directors of the institution.

To maintain an atmosphere of joy for the month in which Christmas is celebrated, the Britcham prepared a concertwhich was offered by the winners of the Young Musicians of the Caribbean Award (Ymoca), a Program organized by the british chamberin conjunction with Bangor University and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABS).
This artistic moment had the participation of artists from the music faculty of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), conducted by maestro Hipólito Javier, director of the Chamber Orchestra UASD-Gocessa.
