After two years of different waves of Covid-19, in a pandemic that completely paralyzed the bridal sector around the world, “Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week” returned with the slogan “Move to Newy”, which reflects the future of the bridal world, as well as the values for which it bets.
Bridal proposals from renowned and innovative designers and firms revealed, during bridal fashion week, the trends for the coming months. Do you have a wedding in sight? From romantic lines to more bohemian variants starred in the event.
For example, Viktor & Rolf Mariage featured an exploration of iconic elements inspired by classic haute couture influences in its bridal collection. In this line, dresses decorated with hand-made silk organza floral decorations stood out, elegantly winding around the bras in aerial movements. According to Vogue Spain, these designs share the spotlight with surreal shoulder pieces, designed with materials such as filament fabrics.
Firms such as Pronovias and Modeca also emphasized this trend. Each design of these brands sought the elegance present in feminine beauty through the most spectacular creations. From the perfect princess ball gown, full of details, to the most delicate and minimalist one that keeps discreet volume as the protagonist.
On the other hand, the wedding dresses in the More collection evoked a nostalgic elegance, through a floral explosion that marks the exaltation of a new femininity. Her designs were based on a celebration of spring and a classical depiction in painting.
“Pronovias” and the Spanish firm Isabel Sanchis also followed the same line with dresses full of volumes on the sleeves and floral shapes both in the silhouette and at the neckline.
The bohemian style, with ethnic influences, triumphed in the pandemic with the smallest and most minimalist celebrations, but it will continue to be a success now that summer weddings are approaching. The Anatolian bridal collection is a good proof of this reality. During “Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week”, the firm presented six “boho” style wedding dresses inspired by the ancient goddesses of the eastern areas and the Mediterranean Levant, such as Mesopotamia, Egypt and Asia Minor.
In turn, voluminous ball gowns, ruffled necks and puffed sleeves evoked the Victorian era, but with modern touches such as ruffles on the shoulders that add a modern touch to the more classic style. The Vestal firm’s collection, starring dazzling fabrics with bright handmade beads, opted for this trend and managed to mix timeless and contemporary styles.
In addition, the brand incorporated floral elements (thus betting on another of the great trends seen on the catwalk), with details inspired by botanical gardens, floral appliqués and beaded foliage.
The style of “superimposing” the garments was also not absent from the event and the firm Sophie et Voilà is triumphing with bridal designs of this aspect, which has positioned itself at the forefront of wedding dresses, displaying a very different style. , simple and modern. On this occasion, the brand presented fifteen designs that evolve by dismantling sleeves, capes and tails, which at the same time breathe the brand’s characteristic style.
