Brent oil price exceeds 130 dollars per barrel

The price of Brent oil reaches 130.3 dollars per barrel, surpassing the record set in 2012, when crude oil was trading at 128 dollars.

According to the international price for the early hours of this Monday 00:28 (GMT), Brent for delivery in May rose 9.35 percentage points to reach a peak of 129.06 dollars per barrel in the London futures framework, which makes the price reaches 130.3 dollars per barrel.

In addition, the price of WTI crude oil futures for April increased by approximately 9.68 percent in the early hours of Monday, March 7, reaching 126.12 dollars per barrel.

The increase in Brent oil occurs amid insistent versions that estimate an embargo on Moscow crude by the United States (USA), another measure that constitutes pressure against Russia that launched a military operation in Ukraine to denazify the country .

On March 2, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and ten other producing nations, including Russia, agreed to increase crude oil extraction by another 400,000 barrels per day (bd) for next April.

During the 38th Meeting of the entity’s Joint Monitoring Ministerial Committee (JMMC), held via videoconference, the member countries maintained the roadmap of gradual increases in production that they apply from August 2021.
