They are, effectively, seven years of a world of “the other data.” It is the demonstration that a six-year change did not change the populist rhetoric of former President López Obrador at all.
At the end of this year seven, terrorist acts have to be disguised with euphemisms from the brand new Attorney General’s Office (FGR) to leave last weekend’s attack in Coahuayana, Michoacán in the well-known terrain of organized crime.
Of course, the tlatoani did not like the reality of facing terrorist acts in Mexico, which he called propaganda, and in this seventh year the FGR had to back down in its classification of the crime.
And also in the economy the world of other data is intact and not only in the most intangible macroeconomic data, but even in employment data.

One would like public officials to have, among many others, two characteristics: that they understand the figures and that they speak the truth with those data in hand.
The point is that Zoé Robledo appears with the employment data at the end of November, because we will see it disappear when the number of positions lost due to seasonal issues in December has to be announced. There we will not even see its lights.
Well, the director of the IMSS presumes that there was never a record of 22 million 837,768 affiliated jobs. A fact that dies in the inaccuracy of the population increase, something that that official should know and that, if he knows it, he should not abuse the general ignorance of the followers of the morning.
But he did something more in that audacity to challenge the truth with the world of other data: he boasted that until this year seven of López Obrador, nearly 2.2 million formal jobs have been created.
A fact that should be a reason for breaking the policies of the last six-year term, in this the first year of Claudia Sheinbaum, they presume it without decorum.
Any expert in statistical and labor issues can reach a very simple conclusion, given the population pyramid in its current composition, from 2018 to date, 1.2 million new net jobs should have been added year after year.
That would give, in simple mathematics, the need to have generated 8.4 million formal jobs and not presume that 6.2 million jobs less than the essential minimum were created!
The persistence of the world of “the other data” is not only an inherited rhetorical error, it is a dangerous instrument of governance that deliberately distorts reality in the face of a society divided between those who have believed whatever in these seven years and those who have learned to distrust that information in all this time.
It is essential that this be year one of seeking real solutions and not just year seven of building on lies, because the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be, is the only worthy starting point for governing.
