Young people carrying native tree seedlings, symbolizing the future, also traveled to the streets of the Esplanade of Ministries.

Professor Leonardo Farias da Cunha (highlighted image) went to the center of Brasilia to watch the parade accompanied by his wife Paula Farias and the two children Caetano, 8, and Maitê, 7 years old. As the family is from Goiânia, this was the first time they watched the parade in Brasilia.

According to Leonardo, who currently teaches in Brasilia, the messages presented in the parade managed to demonstrate the appreciation of Brazil, the environmental heritage and show how important this is to ensure the future of Brazilians.

“It is important for the country to claim sovereign, independent, to value their traditions and the Brazilian people,” he says.

Célia Regina Cunha left the municipality of Poções, Bahia, along with her daughter, son -in -law and four grandchildren to see the President of the Republic, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva closely and to learn about the theme of the parade celebrated.

“A very important theme, because the boss in our Brazil is us Brazilians,” he said.

Unlike Leonardo and Clélia’s family, student Eddy Heredia Nascimento says he does not lose September 7 parades since he was a child.

“I’ve already paraded many years and this is the first one that I came just to watch. It’s all very beautiful and organized. I loved the theme. We need to battle to maintain our sovereignty.”

According to Eddy, the choice of Curupira as a symbol of COP30 and his participation in the parade has an extremely strong relationship with a sovereign Brazil.

“We have the largest rainforest in the world, so we need to take care of it and take care of this wealth is to be sovereign,” he says.

Security

Much of the audience that accompanied the stands arrived early to freely access the structure set up in Brasilia. Since 6:20 am, the place was already open to accommodating those who arrived and around 8:30 am all available places were already occupied.

The public who arrived later had to accompany in the spaces between the stands. Common reinforced security schemethe distance between the parade area and these spaces caused dissatisfaction in those who did not get place in the assembled structure.

The nursing technique, Iara Vieira, arrived 8:30 am on the terrace, accompanied by the family and could not enter.

“Unfortunately we can’t see with this distance and can’t go close. The children expecting to see the tanks, the cavalry and the military have been sad. For many years we come to watch and it had never happened that we are so far away.”

Professor Maria de Lourdes dos Santos, despite having her bracelet to access the wheelchair area, was informed that there was no place.

She got a space in one of the ordinary stands and was able to follow the party closely.

“I left 6:30 am from Paranoá to be closer to the president, but I’m happy right here. The parade is very good. The participation of children, the themes. We really have to defend our sovereignty.”

Scream of the excluded

This year’s edition of the scream of the excluded in Brasilia was at Praça Zumbi dos Palmares, a few kilometers from the official parade of the Ministries Esplanade, and was attended by hundreds of people.

With posters in defense of national sovereignty and the country’s natural riches, protesters also claimed to reduce the weekly working day, the taxation of super rich; and criticized the amnesty attempt by accused of coup attempt.

One of the participants in the scream of the excluded in Brasilia was the director of Journalism of the Brazilian Press Association (ABI), Moacyr Oliveira Filho, 72.

“We are here, entities, parties, academics and unions, all in defense of national sovereignty; the taxation of super-icos; and the exemption of income tax for those who receive up to $ 5,000; besides the end of the 6×1 scale,” said the director of ABI.

The National Congress was criticized, such as the mayor Hugo Motta, called “traitor” for having waved the possibility of putting, on the agenda of the house, some claims of the far right Brazilian.
