Legendary Brazilian ex-footballer Zico invited by his country’s Olympic delegation to the 2024 Paris Gamesfiled a complaint for the theft of her bagprompting the opening of an investigation, the French capital’s public prosecutor’s office said Friday.
Zico stated that “They stole a bag containing valuable objects from her from his vehicle with the window open in the 19th arrondissement in northern Paris, the prosecutor said, confirming a report by Le Parisien.
According to the newspaper, the value of the theft amounts to “500,000 euros”: In the bag there was “a Rolex watch, a diamond pendant and cash worth 2,000 euros and 2,000 dollars.”
These damages are “greatly overestimated”, said a source close to the investigation consulted by AFP. The investigations were entrusted to the Brigade de Repression de Banditry (BRB) of the Parisian judicial police.
Arthur Antunes Coimbra, Zico, 71 years old, legendary ’10’ of Flamengo and the Brazilian national team, with whom he played in the World Cups in Argentina-1978, Spain-1982 and Mexico-1986, he was also assistant to technical director Mario Lobo Zagallo in the Canarincha that lost 3-0 in the final of the World Cup in France-1998 against the French team led by Zinedine Zidane.
