Brazilian tourism earned R$185 billion from January to October 2025 and broke a record in values already recorded in the sector. According to the most recent survey by the Federation of Commerce, Goods, Services and Tourism of São Paulo (FecomercioSP), based on information from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), last year was historic for Brazilian tourism and consolidated a trajectory of consecutive growth, especially in revenue.
Data from FecomercioSP show that revenue in 2025 was the highest since the survey began in 2011. Compared to the same period in 2024, the increase was 6.4%.
Practically all segments analyzed made progress. The highlight was passenger air transport, which had revenues of R$48 billion, and an increase of 10.2% compared to the period from January to October 2024. The food sector also appears with good numbers. Revenue reached R$28.3 billion in the ten months of 2025, an increase of 6.2% in the same comparison.
The biggest percentage growth was in the accommodation sector, which, from January to October, earned R$22.6 billion. An increase of 11.2% compared to the same period in 2024.
In isolation, the month of October 2025 also registered a historic record, with revenues of R$19.4 billion, a growth of 6.5% when compared to the same period of the previous year.
The tenth month of the year was the third best result in the annual historical series, behind only the months of January, when the sector’s revenue reached R$21.2 billion, and July, with R$197 billion.
In the year to date, the biggest increases in revenue in the sector were recorded in Rio Grande do Sul (13.5%), Amazonas (11.1%) and Bahia (9.6%).
