After 13 years in the sport, Camille Giovanini (pictured) leaves for a new stage in life: his career as an artist in the world’s leading circus company.
It was in 2024 when Camille Giovanini watched the show Crystal, of Cirque du Soleilin Brazil, that passion has become a dream: one day, to be part of the largest circus in the world.
“I was on a cruise with a friend. I was very moved, I cried to see the show. And she said to me: this is for you, Camille! It’s your face. Then I couldn’t escape,” recalls Paulista in an interview for Brazil agency.
Now, in early 2025, the dream came true. The 19 -year -old traveled to Montreal, Canada, on January 18, to start a training period. Approved in a very disputed selection process, she was chosen to join the multinational company.
“The first step is being a lot of training and preparation. They called me to the show team Russian Swingwhich is a very radical number composed of only women. After all the preparation I go forward to the shows. And that! What they ask I will be doing, “he said.
The hard journey to Cirque du Soleil
Camille began in artistic gymnastics at the age of six and since then has tried a trajectory of overcoming and achievements. At 12, he decided to start training at ABC Paulista, at Sesi (Social Service of Industry), in Santo André. But it did not give up continuing living in the city of Praia Grande, on the coast of São Paulo.
She, along with a family member, most of the time her mother, Monica, traveled the 70-kilometer earthly route more than once a day from Monday to Friday for more than five years.
“We have always been a very united family. But at this time of trips to Santo André, Camille and I saw our partnership becomes even stronger. My heart is filled with joy for the conquest of it. I’m sure it will have a lot Success, “says the mother, Monica Giovanini.
Among his achievements as an artistic gymnastics athlete from Sesi-SP are the three-time youthful South American championship by the Brazilian team, the two-time Brazilian teams and several individual medals in state and national competitions.
“Camille leaves behind not only a prominent career in the sport, but also an inspirational legacy for young athletes. The arrival in the Brazilian team in the adult category, after several injuries and dedication, is show of talent. As an athlete. He had to work hard.
