This break was important for Palmeiras, which will feature the return of an important reinforcement, midfielder Gustavo Scarpa.

“[Precisamos] think only about how to beat Flamengo, as it will be an extremely difficult game, probably the hardest of the year. Let’s do our best and see what happens”, declared the player in an interview with TV Palmeiras.
With the team rested, and with only midfielder Jailson missing, the expectation is that Abel Ferreira will put on the field what he has best: Weverton; Marcos Rocha, Gustavo Gómez, Murilo and Piquerez; Danilo, Zé Rafael and Raphael Veiga; Dudu, Gustavo Scarpa and Rony.
For Flamengo, the match is an opportunity to reduce the nine-point difference to Verdão. For this, it is enough for the team led by Dorival Júnior to reach the seventh consecutive triumph in the Brazilian, where the coach sent an alternative team to the field in the last clashes.

I’m thinking of changing as needed. We will have a decision Sunday and another Wednesday [pela Copa do Brasil contra o São Paulo]. We have nowhere to run. It’s a quick assessment, but I still can’t say anything”.
